In the Lal Jose film, Ann plays Elsamma, who is as smart, efficient and gutsy as a boy of her age. She has to shoulder the responsibilities of running a family at a very young age and she tries her best to fulfill them. She dons the shirt and lungie her late father used to wear while she works. Even at the sets, she wears the same costume. Everyone at the sets call her Elsamma now.
She says she has become the character now and hence when people call her Elsamma, she feels happy. Ann hopes that her character would become an unforgettable one for a viewer.
The beautiful actress, daughter of veteran actor Augustine, has just completed her graduation. She says she never had thought of having a film career. Though she has had many offers earlier, she refused them as she had wanted to complete her studies.
